About us
Leader Göta älv & Säveån is one of 40 Leader areas in Sweden that distributes project support for rural development.
Our leader area
Leader Göta älv and Säveån is a newly formed leader area that, for the 2023-2027 programming period, has emerged from the areas of Gothenburg Insjörike and Leader Längs Göta Älv, a collaboration that aims to work with local development. The municipalities included are Ale and Lilla Edet as well as parts of Alingsås, Lerum, Trollhättan and Vänersborg.
The Leader area has been allocated a budget that will create local development during the programming period through project ideas that residents and those active in the area develop in the form of project applications. The Leader office works with the applications that come in, supports and coaches the applicant, processes cases and prepares the applications for decisions, the office provides the decision-making group – the LAG board – with the material and information it needs to be able to make decisions about the development ideas.
LAW
Non-profit, private and public sectors have come together to contribute to local development within a geographically defined area called a leader area. People from these three sectors, who live and work in the area, have formed a non-profit association, a so-called LAG which is a local action group (Local Action Group). The non-profit association is led by a board that has representation from all three sectors.
The board is the one that prioritizes the development ideas that stakeholders and residents propose in the form of project applications. The goal is to create an attractive area for visitors and residents in the area with competitive activities, new companies and more jobs.
Strategy
Our development strategy is an action plan that has been developed by non-profit, private and public forces coming together to agree on what Leader Göta älv and Säveån will work on to develop the Leader area during the 2023 - 2027 programming period.
